Welcome to my virtual world, where I’m known as the Senior Sim Racer, David Blyth. I’ve been around the racing circuit for a while now, and I’m not about to let my age hold me back. I might not be from another planet, but I’ve got a knack for keeping it on the black stuff and savoring every moment of the thrill of Sim Racing

My love of motorsport started in the real world as a self-funded club racer. I took the budget-friendly route, diving into open-wheeled single seater racing with the 750 Motor Club in the Formula Vee class. We were rocking air-cooled VW engines, pushing out about 85 horsepower. Let me tell you, those limitations on engine modifications only added to the adrenaline rush. Average lap speeds reached an exhilarating 90 to 95 mph.
The following year, I decided to step up my game, moving on to Formula Ford with the 750 Motor Club. We had a modest yet powerful 1800cc Ford Zetec engine, capable of hitting top speeds of 125 mph and going from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.7 seconds. It was in this class that I clinched my first victory at Mallory Park in the rain and finished the season with a respectable third-place ranking in the championship.

But the excitement was far from over. I embraced the challenge of racing Legends Cars with BARC. These were 5/8 scale replicas of 1930s Fords, Chevys, and Dodges, packing a punch with a spirited 125 horsepower Yamaha engine that could reach speeds over 120 mph.
Finally, I made the leap into team racing with the Fun Cup under BRSCC. In this league, all cars were identical 180 bhp VW Beetle replicas with sealed major components to ensure equal performance. Don’t be fooled by those standard road radial tires; these cars could handle both wet and dry conditions, adding another layer of excitement to my racing journey.
